For the Period covering July 04-06, 2017, Agents conducted routine inspections in various areas of the Laguna and Quezon Provinces, where illegal compact discs were reportedly being openly sold to the public.
A total of fifty three business stalls were inspected, which led to the seizure of around 44,000 or more pieces pirated CDs/DVDs of different format and titles, amounting to an estimated value of PhP15.40-Million.
Local Government Units are advised not to renew the business permits of retailers who mix unauthorized copies of compact discs in their legitimate merchandize. Local law enforcement offices are also requested to report the presence of pirated CDs in their respective jurisdictions, so joint operations may be implemented with the Optical Media Board. `
